Ferdinand Piech has built the "Autostadt" in Wolfsburg: A huge spectacle between fun and information. All brands of the VW family are presented.

In the Audi building, the guys from AutoBild found a very special concept car, that was then without a name:

This supersportscar, showing design elements of the TT and especially the old Silverarrows of Auto Union, could see production in a small series. AutoBild says something of 50 to 100 cars a year, that seems way too much to me. The price will be at least 250.000 Dollars/Euro. As a engine, nearly everything powerful could be used. However, most likely is the V16 that was presented in the Bentley concept car "Hynaudieres". Because the old Silverarrows, too, had a V16 midengine configuration. But they got over 520PS out of a small displacement by the means of a supercharger (compressor), while the new one has full 8 litres of displacement probably normally aspirated.
The guys from the German magazine "mot" say it would be possible that Cosworth will develop a V16 consisting basically of two V8s. The power leaves the crankshaft in the middle between the two V8s. This helps to keep vibrations, swinging (also torsional) low. This unconventional setup seems to be liked by Ferdinand Piech, so it has quite a chance.
I really would like to see a supercharged Audi, as Auto Union had big success with this layout.

In case you are upset as the quality of the pics is not too good: The car was shown only 16 secondes. Not enough time to get everything right in the bad light.
If you look carefully, you can see that the front lights are normally covered. These covers glide upwards to let the lights show. The guys from mot had the same problems. But check their pics out:

Although Audi did no promotion in the beginning. There are now even some official photos. Now, the internal name "Project Rosemeyer" after the famous Auto Union World Record and Formula 1 driver Bernd Rosemeyer is public. A matching name if you ask me.
